African Democratic Congress (ADC) state congress in Adamawa State has been described as the most free, fair and transparent congress in the history of the state.
The Acting Chairman of the party, Alhaji Umaru Mijinyawa Kugama who made this disclosure maintained that ADC is one of the powerful parties in the state as the party has about 60 per cent of the population of each local government council.
According to him, ADC, is the party to watch in Adamawa.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Anayo Arinze, who was also in Adamawa told delegates that Senator Abdulaziz Nyako brought a good party for them in Adamawa for good governance.
“Today marks the beginning of our work in Adamawa State, by the time we round up campaign and election in 2019, we expect Aziz in the government house”, he stated.
While charging delegates to join hands together to make Adamawa an ADC state, he said the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC), only satisfies its own personal interest at the detriment of the masses.
At the end of the day, the Chairman of Bring Back Buhari and Osibanjo 2019 in Adamawa, Alhaji Yahaya Hammajude emerged as the state Chairman of ADC.
The chairman was the only candidate for the position after the other contestants for the post withdrew before the election.
But in keeping to the slogan of the party which is fairness and justice the delegate to conduct the election for the office despite been unopposed.
The office of the state secretary and that of the women leader were also unopposed while the other offices were zoned to various part of the state.
Declaring the chairman, Secretary and the Women leader winners of the election, the National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Saidu Baba Abdullahi who is also the leader of the congress committee Saidu Baba Abdullahi said ” we in the party believed in transprancy and justice and that is why we conducted the election despite the offices been un oppose”
He charged them to take the party to the next level and ensure that they work hard to win Adamawa state for the party.
The newly elected state officers were sworn in by National Legal Advicer of the party.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected state chairman of the party, Alhaji Yahaya Hammajude thanked the delegates for giving him the opportunity to serve in this capacity, he assured them that he will carry everyone along in the quest to deliver the state to ADC.
