The Chairman of the Adamawa state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, Mr. Rodney S. Nathan, has called upon Primary school teachers in the state to remain calm as the government has promised to pay them their 3 months’ salary.
According to him, Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla is a people oriented leader who delivers when he promised thus teachers should give him that benefit of doubt.
Nathan, who spoke to journalist after he received an award of excellence by the Pan- African Leadership Transparency Center, PALTC Abuja, maintained that the award of Excellency in leadership was given in recognition of his good leadership qualities since he assumed office in July 2016.
“They said they were monitoring my activities, my achievement and leadership styles since I assumed office”, he stated.
The Unionist maintained that the award came immediately after his Exco passed a vote of confidence on his leadership.
Nathan confessed that the award and vote of confidence has ginger him to put in his best towards achieving the objectives of the union.
The NUT Chairman disclosed that he inherited a lot of problems ranging from the nonpayment of salary, issues of promotion, leave grant and a host of others.
“All these problems did not deter me, but rather they fueled my desire to bring about a change in line with the change mantra of the APC led leadership”, he disclosed.
