The Acting Chairman of the Adamawa State chapter of the  All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Dimas Ezra has disclosed that the party has no any internal  crisis but experiencing a a communication gap.
According to him, after the death of the Acting party chairman lateYamusa Shuaibu, he was elected to serve in acting capacity and his appointment was duly confirmed by the national secretariat of the party.
“Thus it was surprising when we received a letter from the national secretariat of the party informing us about the appointment of a 10 man caretaker committee to run party affairs in here in Adamawa”, He stated.
Ezra lamented that the inauguration of the caretaker committee was equally done in Abuja. “Why Abuja he queried, this is a state affairs I don’t understand why everything should be done in Abuja and not in Yola among their own party members and people”.
The acting chairman went further to say that the action of the national secretariat of the party is against the constitution and manifesto of the party, and also leaves room for suspicious.
“If they say there is a vacuum in the party, they should declare the vacant offices and hold elections to fill the vacuum. There is no political activity in the state and you appoint a committee, to do what?, Ezra stated.
He disclosed that the APC which was a child of circumstance should unite to hold onto its victory and build upon the vision of its founding fathers: building infrastructure, increasing productivity and economic prosperity of the country.
“APC and Adamawa state does not need any confusion at this critical stage. Efforts should be geared towards consolidating the good work of the party through Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla. Bindow is doing a good work, go round the state and you will see evidence of his good works. If we have a governor that is building infrastructure, he needs our support, not disunity, not crisis, not people that put their own interest above that of the state”, he affirmed.
In order to quell the confusion in the party, Ezra opines that, the national secretariat of the party should reverse to status quo; they should write another letter reversing the inauguration of the 10 man committee.
He also advises the national secretariat of the party to declare the vacant offices in the state and hold elections. Let anybody that is interested come out and contest, it is not for the national secretariat to appoint a local government chairman to head the state wing of the party.
Ezra while declaring that he is the one and only Acting Chairman in the state, called upon all APC members that are supporting justice and the rule of law to remain calm and also ask all parties involved in the fiasco to see reason why the state should not be thrown into any confusion .
“It is not all about Dimas, it is all about APC, justice and fairness” he stressed.
It could be recalled that the APC in Adamawa was thrown into confusion after the death of its Acting Chairman, Yamusa Shuaibi. Since then, the leaders are at daggers drawn over who controls the party’s structures in the state.
Most visible in the battle for the soul of the party are two power blocs- that of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the one controlled by former governor of the state, Murtala Nyako. Both have their loyalists and godsons planted in key offices in the state and Abuja.
