Activist/Buhari supporter cries for help over alleged threat to life
By; Vitalis Ugoh, Calabar.
A Calabar based social activist and scribe of President Buharu Support Group, Barrister Joseph Odok has cried for help over an alleged threat to his life by a national Assembly member representing the Central senatorial district of the state.
Odok who is a lecturer in the University of Calabar and the Publicity Secretary of the state chapter of Buhari Youths Organization, made the allegation while briefing newsmen in Calabar shortly after honouring a police invitation to respond to a petition filed against him by the Senator.
Enoh had filed a petition to the Inspector General of police, Mr. Solomon Arasie , accusing Odok of threat to life and defamation of character.
Narrating his ordeal Odok said that before and after the petition, he has received numerous calls from the Senator’s aides and loyalists threatening his life over his publication titled “Lawmakers should not be Lawbreakers”.
He said, the publication was not defamatory as alleged but a reaction to earlier publication by one Mr. Thomas Ofereh, who had accused the Senator of illegally acquiring his land located at Etera/Ekori community in Obubra Local government area of the state.
While calling on the Federal Government to ensure that public servants do not use government agencies to harass and intimidate the masses, he vowed that threat and intimidation can’t stop him from holding the Senator accountable as one of the people he is representing.
“I’m here to respond to a petition over the case of threat to life and defamation of character filed by Senator Owan Enoh against me but the funniest thing is that the petitioner is even the person committing the offence of threat to life”, he added.
The documents I was presented with carried my article titled “Lawmakers should not be Lawbreakers” which was in reaction to an earlier published article by Thomas Ofereh alleging that the Senator had taken their land illegally and was threatening his life.
“This act of intimidation using the Police and aides won’t scare me from holding him responsible as my Senator, he said”.
END.

  1. Senator John Owan Enoh remains a law abiding citizen of the federal republic of Nigeria and so therefore one would wonder why a man like him who is mightily blessed of God, threaten your life. And pls do not forget to keep Buhari out of ur profile, as he would not send you on this message of publishing falsehood all over the net. I have evidence u are an irredeemable liar and a blackmailer.
