Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will tomorrow Friday, inaugurate the International Event Centre, also known as The Dome in Akure, the Ondo State capital city.
Briefing newsmen in Akure, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kayode Akinmade said the commissioning of the prestigious edifice will be performed by the Acting President, even as he added that a Mega school will be commissioned in Ijapo on the same day, while the Aboto water scheme in Ilaje , in the Southern Senatorial District of the state will be performed on Saturday.
He said though Ilaje people live on water, the launch of the water scheme will make it the first time in the history of the people to enjoy treated water.
Also submitting that necessary arrangements have been made towards the inauguration of the The Dome by Acting President Osibajo, the rare structure, Akinmade said, has 3 Oval Domes with full architecture, with the hall in each of the Dome capable of sitting 5,000 guests and 3 events simultaneously.
The Dome also has a complementing event hall and has the capacity to sit 3,000 with syndicate room stores.
The structure consists of three linked concrete platforms standing on an array of re-inforced concrete columns and beams.
All three platforms are roofed separately with Valmex Mehatop super able fabric on steel framed domes with dome 1 and 3 being the same size and Dome 2 being of a Sauder size.
The complex is accessed from the Dome 1 with the Administrative section at the rear end of the structure.
The Domes, he added, are flanked on both sides by conveniences and spaces between the Domes platforms serving as exhibition spaces, VIP lounges, bars, syndicate room stores, and clubs among others.
Before now, Arakale, Oba-ile Airport dualised roads, all with the accompanying furniture, the Civil Service training institute in Ilara-mokin among others have been commissioned since the commencement of the Legacy projects commissioning programme of the outgoing government of Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
Also commissioned was the Semi Mechanised Abattoir designed to address the hygiene issue associated with the regular slaughter slabs.
Facilities available at the Abattoir include boreholes, electrification, the main slaughter hall and lairage among others, with the main slaughter hall fit to process 48 animals at a time even as it has seven processing lines.
