A youth activist has lambasted the Plateau State Government for abandoning and neglecting the victims of Fulani attacks in Josho, Daffo in Bokkos LGA, angry that the Internally Displaced Persons are taking refuge under trees.
Briefing newsmen in Jos the Plateau State capital, the youth activist, Honourable Macham Emmanuel accused the Plateau State Government of doing nothing to help people suffering in the effected areas.
He said some state government officials visited the scene of the incident just to snap pictures with the affected people and share on social media just to portray as if something is happening, hereby blocking donor agencies from assisting and later abandoning the people to their fate.
“The attacks have continued as one person, Mr Mallan was killed just last Tuesday and another critically injured and receiving treatment at Bimma Hospital in Jos.
“Also two persons that where abducted, Mr Aborok and his son Mr Adamu are yet to be accounted for whether dead or alive, a situation that has thrown the community under serious tension and security threat,” he said.
He said that he wonders why the state government has not done anything for the people affected, who are presently living under  trees and unable to feed
with no assistance coming.
“Sen Joshua Chibi Dariye and Cocin Hqtrs Church Jos are the only people who have assisted with 50bags of maize and N200,000 thousand respectively.
” This can’t be compared with the level of goods worth millions of Naira destroyed by the hoodlums.
“I  appeal to donor agencies, government agencies and individuals to assist these people with relief materials. The raining season has just begun and almost all the houses affected are mud houses, some of the houses can be repaired with less expenditure, before the rains destroy them all,” he added.
He called for more security deployment to the affected area and the release of the two persons kidnapped by the hoodlums in the interest of peace.
