ABUTH Resident Doctors Commences Free Surgical Operations For 150 Patients

President, Association of Resident Doctor, ARD, Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Zaria, ABUTH, Dr. Waziri Aliyu Dahiru has disclosed that the association has embarked on a free surgical outreach for 150 patients suffering from various eye ailments.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen, shortly after the Flagging off the free surgical operations, held at Saidu Dange Memorial Hospital Railway Zaria, he said the programme was part of their traditional end of the year activities of the association.
“Annually we carried out some activities such as community outreach, free surgical operations to patients, free medication as well as visitations to orphanage all in line with the culture of the association” he stressed.
Dr.Waziri said, “we have dedicated team of experts who have wealth of experience within us, who throughout the week carry out marvelous activities, as part of the association’s social responsibilities”.
He said , the association provides free health services during this period, they also pay a visitation to orphanages around the area, free distribution of drugs as well as community outreach.
According to him, the beneficiaries were drawn from 8 local government areas, to benefits on free surgical operations on Lipoma, Hernia, Hydrocele, Appendicitis, and fibroid.
Malam Sani Ibrahim from Samaru, one of the beneficiaries interviewed, said he has suffered from fibroid for quite a long time and its now that he was able to get intervention from this association.
He expressed delight over the development, lauded the association for the gesture and called on well to do individuals  to emulates the association.
