An Abuja-based Lawyer, Barr. Oluwaseun Adeojo, has lent his voice against extrajudicial killings in the country, while he called on the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba, as matter of urgency to quickly flush out the bad eggs in the force.

The call is coming on the heels of the killing of a Lagos lawyer, Mrs. Bolanle Raheem, by an unnamed policeman who shot her dead the legal practitioner on Christmas day in Lagos State.

The killing of the lawyer has since elicited reactions from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and netizens, who all flayed the murder of Raheem.

Adeojo who also joined eminent Nigerians to condemn the death of his colleague, in a statement obtained by our correspondent, said members of the wig and gown are saddened by the ugly incident perpetrated by the policeman.

The statement partly reads, “The killing of this learned colleague is best described as one too many. I felt a pang of pains after reading the devastating news online yesterday. Undoubtedly, our hardworking IGP has been making tremendous impact on the force, but he needs to up his game by curbing extrajudicial killings and dismiss uncultured policemen”

“It is very sad that this could happen to a member of the bar, I sympathize with the family of deceased. The atmosphere is fast becoming unsafe if such avoidable killing is allegedly perpetrated by a trigger happy policeman expected to safe guard the citizens”

“Justice must be served accordingly. I urge the Federal Government to frontally tackle other forms of insecurity bedeviling the nation”

“May you rest eternally in sweet slumber”, Adeojo penned.
