ABU/DAC graduates 3,534 Students

The Vice Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Professor Ibrahim Garba has expressed satisfaction over the growth both in size and scope of the programmes of the Division of Colleges of Agriculture they run to cater for the dynamic needs in the technical manpower of the northern region of the country.
Professor Garba stated this at the 32nd Joint Convocation ceremony of the Division of Agricultural Colleges, ABU Zaria held at Mamman Kontagora Convocation Square at main campus Samaru.
He noted that, the Division and the University have continued to discharge their mandate of teaching, research and community service as well train men and women without any distinction on grounds of race, religion or political beliefs.
The Vice Chancellor also commended the Division for having very low level social vices among students.
Professor Garba urged the graduating students to use the skills, knowledge and training they acquired in meeting the new challenges they may face in the larger society.
In his address, the Director Division of Agricultural Colleges, ABU Zaria, Professor Muhammed Fatihu said efforts are being made in the Division to address the evolving needs of communities, through introduction of new programmes in the College.
Low funding have delayed the progress and completion of approved projects in the Division, he stressed.
The Director cry out that the removal of Colleges of Agriculture from TETFUND grants by an act of NASS has negatively affected the colleges.
A total of 3,534 graduated at the 2005/2006 to 2014/2015 session.
