ABU Central Store Gets Befitting Facelift

The Central Store of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has received a befitting facelift following renovation and furnished under the 2021 and 2023 capital appropriations projects.

In a Press release by the Public Affairs Directorate of the University said, the rehabilitation works of the store were in two phases.

The phase I was completed along with the renovation of the Students Affairs store on 18th August, 2021 at the cost of over N27 million while the phase II was completed on 6th September, 2023 at the cost of N19 million.

According to the statement, the facility has already been taken over by the university after completion of the projects from Bassey Global Services Ltd, the contracting firm that handled the works.

The scope of the works included replacement of roof, doors, and windows, as well as plumbing and electrical works, tiling and painting.

They also included office partitioning, refurbishment of warehouse steel racks, industrial cleaning, supply of 200 steel pallets and supply of furniture.

Commenting on the project, the Director, Physical Planning and Municipal Services, Ahmadu Bello University, Arc. Suleiman Mohammed, who expressed satisfaction with the work, explained that the project was executed in two phases in line with the Medium Term Sector Strategic Plan.

Arc. Mohammed also said that the project was carried in two financial years under the capital appropriations projects and that the end users had already taken over the facility after its completion from the contractor.
