Abia Police arrest suspected kidnappers …recover SMG riffle

Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Abia State Police Command stationed in Aba have arrested one Ogochukwu Ihedioha, male of No. 9, EkwulubiaStreet, Diobu, Port-Harcourt, River State in connection with the kidnap of a Pastor from Clifford road and a female victim from Ngwa road Aba on 11th May 2016.
The Commissioner of Police, Habila Joshack while parading the suspects, said the victims were rescued by the same SARS team on 12th may 2016, a day after they were kidnapped from Umuokwo Egbere, Omoma LGA, in Rivers State.
Their rescue was made possible as a result of information received by the Police on the existence of the Kidnappers’ den in that location.
The suspect and his cohorts however escaped arrest when the Police stormed their den.
The Police however arrested a female member of the gang identified as Izuchi Nwaforala, rescued the victims unhurt and recovered from the den, one Sub Machine Gun (SMG) Riffle and 25 rounds of live ammunitions.
The Police Chief said effort is on to track down and arrest the other members of the gang who are presently on the run.
