Abdullahi wins NB Plc Jaji 2016 Open Golf

Ahmed Abdullahi from Zaria Golf Club has emerged winner of the 2016 edition of the Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc Jaji Open Golf Tournament, which ended at the Ola Sa’ad  Golf Club, Jaji on Sunday evening.
He ruled the pole position of Best Gross with 145, while Bawa Umar from Kaduna Golf Club settled for the Runner-up Gross with 51 gross. Racheal Danjuma of the Jaji Golf Club emerged winner of the ladies category after 173 gross, while Amina Winifred of IBB Golf Club was runner-up Gross.
Zaria dominated the veterans’ category as Adamu Yusuf and Yaro Shehu won the Best Gross and Runner-up Gross respectively.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Managing Director of NB Plc, Mr. Nicholaas Vervelde said that as a company they are driven by a philosophy of Winning with Nigeria.
“And for the past 70 years through strategic partnerships like this event we are celebrating today, it shows the special importance we give to such relationship,” he said.
Mr Vervelde who was represented by the Kaduna Brewery Manager, Adebolu Obawole explained that his company has developed strong friendship and partnership with the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) and the Jaji Golf Club for the greater part of their 52 years of Brewing operational excellence in Kaduna.
He noted that in spite of all the economic challenges, they have continued to put in their very best to steer the company to great operational excellence.
