Abaji, Manderigi Communities Benefit from Nestle’s Creating Shared Values School Projects

Nestle Nigeria PLC said it has in exercise of its creating shared values policy commissioned multiple community development projects in Manderigi and Abaji.
The projects consisted of classroom blocks, water and sanitization facilities, the food producing firm said in a news release dated 7th October 2021.
“With the completion of three classrooms at Abaji South Primary School, over 150 children now have access to a more conducive learning environment,” Nestle’s management said. “The new water facilities in Abaji West Primary School and Manderigi provide over 1,200 individuals including educators, learners and their families within the community access to safe and clean water.”
Nestle stated that those recent projects are a further demonstration of its passion for enhancing quality of life within communities closest to its operations by improving access to quality education in schools and access to safe and accessible clean water.
It said that it has commissioned five water facilities and two school projects in the past twelve months. It put the number of individuals and families who have benefitted from the facilities to be 4,200.
“Our commitment to creating shared values compels us to contribute towards improving livelihoods within the communities closest to our operations,” Nestle Nigeria’s Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Victoria Uwadoka, declared. “We have sustained our investment in building water facilities and improving infrastructure in public schools because we believe that access to clean, safe water and quality of education are two of the basic human needs for ensuring our social and economic development.
Uwadoka explained that her company’s actions align with Sustainable Development Goals 4 (SDG4) which relates to ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promotion of life-long learning opportunities for all and SDG6 – ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
