Independence Day: Adamawa Youth Stage Solidarity Walk In Support Of Tinubu’s Govt

Adamawa youth under the aegis of “Concerned Youths of Adamawa” on Tuesday morning, flooded major streets of Yola, where they staged a solidarity walk in support of Tinubu’s administration as Nigeria marked its 64th independence anniversary.

Convener of Concerned Youths, Yakubu Umar Girei, at a press briefing shortly after the solidarity walk, said they staged the walk as their own contribution to support the laudable policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration, which have started paying premium.

“It is worthy of note to state that the fiscal reforms instituted by this administration are manifesting in economic resurgence, and social welfare improvement across Nigeria in various sectors.

“While the effect of some of the policies can be felt, other critical successes which cannot be seen or touched are also contributing immensely to Nigeria’s socio economic rebirth.

” It is a fact that the Tinubu Administration’s economic Policies have doubled the aggregate government revenues to over N9.1 trillion and led to substantial reduction in revenue spent on debt service from 97% to 68%.

“The government has also cleared $5 billion in outstanding foreign exchange obligations while it ensures the resurgence of the oil and gas industry with significant Increase in oil production from just above 1 million barrels per day to 1.61 million barrels per day.

“The government also signed two Foreign Direct Investment deals worth over half a billion dollars and is vigorously working to ensure the success of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative by distributing over one million conversion kits to commercial vehicles owners. If fully implemented, the CNG initiative will reduce the cost of transportation by 60%.

“The government has also established the student loan scheme and has made available N45.6 billion Naira for the payments of the loans to indigent students.

“The Tinubu’s administration also established the Consumer Credit Corporation with over N200 billion and allocation of additional N50 billion each for student loans and Credit Corporation.

“Tinubu’s administration has also secured $620 million under the Digital and Creative Enterprises (IDiCE) program and at the same time launched the Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA), the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA) and National Youth Talent Export Programme (NATEP).

“The federal government has also extended financial support of over N570 billion to the 36 states which is expected to benefit no fewer than 600,000 nano-businesses, with an additional 400,000 on the pipeline.

“The government has also championed the independence of the third tier of government and is also working to disburse N1 million Micro and Small business loans to 75,000 beneficiaries and is constructing 10 MSME hubs in order to create 240,000 jobs.

“The government has also commenced Payment of N1 billion each to large manufacturers and has signing the National Minimum Wage law, raising the minimum wage to N70,000 per month.

“The Tinubu’s administration has launched the Renewed Hope City and Estate housing initiative and currently planning to build 100,000 housing units over the next three years.

“It has also removed tariffs and import duties on essential food items and medical supplies in order to lessen hardship on Nigerians and also distribute fertilizer and planning to cultivate over 10 million hectares of land through mechanized farming,” he said.
