FUHSO Holds Progress Dissemination Workshop On Lassa Fever

Authorities of Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) have concluded arrangements to hold a Progress Dissemination Workshop on a research titled, “A Study of the Incidence, Seroprevalence, Risk Factors, and Transmission of Lassa Fever Virus Infection”.

The research study of the Incidence, Serioprevalence , Risk Factors, and Transmission of Lassa Fever Virus in North Central Nigeria is part of the commitment of the management of the university to break new grounds in line with the core objectives of the Institution

New Nigerian Newspapers gathered that the groundbreaking study is aimed at provide valuable insights into the epidemiology of Lassa Fever in the region, with a view to informing public health strategies and interventions to
combat the disease.

In a statement by Dr T.O. Omotehinwa, Publicity Subcommittee, for Principal Investigator, the research team will present the progress made, highlighting early wins, ongoing challenges and the road ahead.

According to the Publicity Subcommittee, the scientific brainstorming will also create a platform for meaningful
discussions on the study’s implications and potential interventions that could significantly reduce the spread of Lassa Fever in Nigeria and beyond.

The statement which explained that the research team on the study of Lassa Fever Virus in North Central Nigeria has been ongoing for some months now will present the progress made at the Lecture Hall A Otada Campus of the University.
