Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was delighted over the conferment of prestigious traditional titles on three prominent personalities in the state by the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.
Governor Radda, who attended the grand event held over the weekend at the Emir’s Palace in Katsina metropolis, hailed the new title holders.
The State Deputy Governor, Honourable Faruq Lawal Jobe was bestowed with the title of the Tenth Sarkin Fulanin Jobe and Honourable Abdullahi Aliyu, member representing Musawa-Matazu Federal Constituency was bestowed with the title of Dujiman Katsina, while Alhaji Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, Chief of Staff to the Governor received the title of Lamidon Katsina.
In his congratulatory message, Governor Radda emphasized the significance of these appointments, saying, “These honors reflect not only the personal achievements of the recipients but also their unwavering commitment to the progress of Katsina State.
The conferment of the titles by the Emir was described as a testament to the rich cultural heritage which people of Katsina would continue to preserve and celebrate.
Governor Dikko Radda said “I am confident that in their new roles, they will contribute significantly to the peace, unity, and development of our dear state.”
In his address to the new title holders after the ceremony, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini expressed concern over the divisions among various Islamic sects, which he said have torn the Muslim community apart.
The Emir, however, identified backbiting and jealousy as factors contributing to societal division. Calling on Muslims to increase their support for the needy.
Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman announced the Katsina Emirate Council planned to form several committees for Zakat Collection and Security with an aimed to
purify the society and avert
calamities.
Some of the important dignitaries that attended the turbaning ceremony include, the former Governor of the state and current Board Chairman TETFUND, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari; Katsina Based Business Mogul, Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal; Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo and members the state and National Assembly.
