Osun Police Arrests 3 Yoruba Nation Agitators Displaying Flag In Market

Three Yoruba Nation agitators as identified as Fagbuyi Oluwafemi, 61, Joy Faseyeku, 63, and Alabede Janet, 64, are now in the net of Osun State Police Command.

The Yoruba Nation agitators according to the Osun State Police Command were arrested for displaying their flags and promoting secessionist ideas at a market in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.

According to Command’s acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Emmanuel Giwa-Alade, the suspects were apprehended on August 27, 2024, around 2 pm. at the Obada Market, in Ikire.

The acting PPRO stressed in the statement that the agitators were arrested while allegedly encouraging traders to support the Yoruba Nation movement and denounce their allegiance to Nigeria.

One of the arrested Yoruba Nation agitators, Fagbuyi, a native of Akure, Ondo State, alleged to be addressing the market audience, claiming that Nigeria ceased to exist after 100 years of amalgamation in 2014.
