As part of his efforts to ensure Muslims celebrate Maulud happily, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Zamfara State, Hon. Yazid Shehu Danfulani flagged off the distribution of Maulid Package to celebrate the holy birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The distribution pattern was centered around the Zamfara Central Zone, which comprises of Gusau, Maru, Tsafe and Bungudu.
According to him, the packages comprised 140 bags of rice and 1,400 cartons of water and drinks, shared among the Tijjaniyya followers across the four local government areas.
“We extended same gesture during the Eid period, as 109 rams were shared to Islamic clerics and traditional rulers across the four local government areas”. He added.
Hon Danfulani, described the month of Maulud as a blessing to every Muslim as it is the month of witnessing the birth of Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of God be with him.
According to him, the gesture is to enable the beneficiaries celebrate Maulud with ease and happily.
He also advised Muslims to use the Month of Maulud by praying to Almighty Allah for the return of peace in the state.
He also appealed to wealthy individuals in the state to assist the less privileged people particularly at the current socioeconomic hardship in order to reduce their hardship.
“I am calling on well to do individual in the state to always use what they have in assisting the lower class people within their domains especially this current situation with a view to reduce the socioeconomic hardship in among them”. He said.
