Representatives of the National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday embarked on moves towards wooing former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala into the party
New Nigerian reliably gathered that the PDP National leadership representatives comprising of an eight man delegation met with the former governor at Radisson Blu hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
It was learnt that PDP delegation was led by the Deputy Governor of from the Northern state, a serving Senator, a member of the PDP National executive and a serving House of Representatives member from Oyo state .
Our investigations revealed that the fresh move by the PDP was part of the efforts by the party’s leadership at repositioning PDP in Oyo state to make it a viral and strong party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Sources said PDP is capitalising on the cold war in Oyo APC presently to reached out to the former Governor and bring him back into the party.
Reliable sources stressed that All Progressives Congress (APC) has been presently polarised into Unity Forum and the PDP in APC factions.
The two APC factions were said to be at logger heads on the modality for the conduct of the party’s State come Saturday, October 16.
