Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria (AMBCN) has suspended its proposed nationwide strike billed to commence on Friday October 1, 2021 following the intervention of Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the National Assembly.
A letter signed by the National President of the Association, Alhaji Mansur Umar and Secretary General Jude Okafor and made available to newsmen, said with their intervention of respected leaders, the executive officers have honoured their pleading on behalf of the members of the association.
They said the SGF promised to address the problems immediately and their matters will be resolved.
Also, the association commended the National Assembly for concerns and the intervention to end the problems facing baking industry in Nigeria.
The association lamented that about 400.000 bakeries closed down over lack of capital to continue with their production.
“With this development, the National President is directing all members nationwide to go on with their normal productions,” it stated
The association said the suspension of the strike is temporary if nothing is done, the strike will begin.
