National Youth Games: Kaduna edges Benue, zooms to tennis quarter finals

Favour Moses of Kaduna State on Tuesday defeated  Joy Akpan of Benue 4-1 in the female category of tennis at the ongoing second edition of the Nationaal Youth Games to book a spot for the quarter finals.
The match was played at the Tennis Courts of the University of Ilorin.
In the other female category game played, Adaeze Megbu of Delta State beat Ijeola Favour of Ogun State 4-0.
In the male category, Musa Yahaya of Kano State beat Ikenne Eze 6-2, while Abubakar Saminu of FCT Abuja beat Joshua Daniel of  Taraba 8-4.
Speaking after the tension soaked game, Favour of Kaduna said that she was happy she won. “I am happy I won the match because I came with the intention of getting a gold medal in the competition.
“I will bring out my best and fight to ensure that I get my gold medal”.
On her part, Akpan said it was good fight even though she lost.
“I hope with the lost I will go and train hard for another appearance,” she assured.
