It is now a mystery whether the abducted Commissioner for Water Resources,  Mr Gabriel Odu Orji, is alive after all as no word nor telephone calls have been heard from his abductors for nine good days.
Sources close to the family told the New Nigerian Online that the abductors of their bread winner have not made any phone call or communicated with the family  in any form since he was abducted.
He said “we have been praying and wondering what could be wrong that the kidnappers have not reached the family or even  his office since he was kidnapped over a week ago”.
“We are  appealing to the public to pray for our father that no harm befalls him because the prolonged silence  from the abductors is disturbing the entire family members, friends and political colleagues who have been keeping vigil in his house in Calabar”.
Confirming the story of the long silence, Irene Ugbo, the Cross River State Police Command spokesman said  ” yes as of now nothing has been heard from the kidnappers. The police are working hard to effect his release”.
Orji was abducted on Palm Sunday morning in Calabar South local government.
