Glisten Academy, Louisville emerges champions in Abuja Basketball Classics

Glisten International Academy and Louisville Girls Secondary have both emerged as the champions of the 1st Abuja Elite Private Schools Basketball Classics which ended on Sunday in the nation’s capital.
To emerge champions in the boys’ category, Glisten Academy defeated Kingsville College from Jahi by 24 to 14 baskets in a highly entertaining match played at the Indoor Hall of the Package B of the Abuja National Stadium.
The Glisten boys dominated the game from start to finish and John Paul in jersey no 15 who later emerged as the most valuable player (mvp) of the competition proved why he is in the national U-16 team that came second in Madagascar recently and in the girls’ final, Louisville beat Loyola Jesuit College by 22 to 12 baskets.
In separate interviews with, coaches Adeolowu Oluwatobi and Abubakar Abdullahi of Louisville College and Glisten Academy respectively, they expressed happiness over their teams’ performances saying the victory was achieved through hard work and focus on the part of their players.
The chief executive officer of Alpha Plus Mega Concepts, Tony Ujadughele, the organizers of the event said he was satisfied with the outcome of the competition and called on other private individuals and corporate organizations to give support to basketball in the country especially in the high schools.
