Dogara raises alarm over fraudulent Facebook accounts

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara has raised the alarm over some fake Facebook accounts created in his name, and being used to defraud people.
According to a statement by the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Turaki Hassan yesterday, the said accounts were being used to solicit for funds from the public
It reads; “The administrators of those accounts are advertising for a so called empowerment scheme by Mr. Speaker for which unsuspecting applicants are asked to pay certain amount of money as premium to access the scheme.
“We wish to inform the general public that those facebook accounts that goes with the name ‘Yakubu Dogara’, or ‘Speaker of the House of Representatives’, or any other name associated with the Speaker, carrying the Speaker’s pictures are not sanctioned by the Speaker or any of his aides.
“Members of the public should be careful of fraudsters who are using the Speaker’s name and pictures to defraud innocent Nigerians”
