Following the directives handed down by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, the North West Zonal office has announced that the team sports eliminations ahead of the 21st National Sports Festival (NSF), will commence on Monday October 3, 2022.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Sports Coordinator North-West Zone VI, Kaduna, Muhammed Kabir Datti, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday October 2.
“I have the mandate by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to respectfully draw your immediate attention that the Hon. Minister, Mr, Sunday Dare has approved the conducts of the above named championship in the 6 geo-political Zonal Offices across the country from 3rd – 7th October, 2022,” he said.
According to the statement, seven events will be featured at the elimination, from where Representatives of the Zone in Football (Male and Female), Basketball (Male and Female), Hockey (Male and Female) and Handball (Male and Female) would emerge.
Representatives from Volleyball (Male and Female), Baseball and Softball (Male and Female) and Beach volleyball (Male and Female) Wouod also emerge, making available slots for 14 tickets in both male and female categories.
The statement informed that the following seven states under the zone are expected to participate at zonal championship, hosts Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa Sokoto and Kebbi.
The statement informed that Monday October 3, 2022 is slated for arrival and accreditation, while the competition holds between 4th and 6th from 8:30am at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium and Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, while departure is on October 7.
“The North-West Zonal Headquarters is holding its Zonal Elimination at in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government,” it informed.
