2023 Wont Be Business As Usual For Violators, Kaduna CP Warns Politicians

As the 2023 general elections draw nearer, Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command, Yekini Ayoku has sounded a strong note of warning to politicians to  play by the rules or be made to do so.

Ayoku reiterated the resolve of the Police under his Command to enforce Electoral Act before, during and after the 2023 election, which he described as an exercise that must be conducted in strict compliance with regulations under an atmosphere of peace and harmony to enable  electorate vote candidates of their choices without harassment or intimidation.

He made the declaration while hosting Executive Members of Nigeria Union Of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State led by the Council Chairman, Comrade Asma’u Yawo Halilu at the Force Headquarters.

The CP while acknowledging important and collaborative roles of the Media in fight against banditry and other forms of insecurity, enjoined Members of the Press not to hype activities of terrorists by giving unnecessary publicity to their heinous crime against the Nigerian Society.

” You can attest to the fact that a sustained onslaught against bandits and other criminals have been mounted and the heat has been unbearable on bad elements in Kaduna state, many of whom have been neutralized , arrested, kidnap victims rescued and dangerous arms recoverd.

” As our partners in the fight against insecurity we implore you to sensitize the public on best ways to be security conscious and roles they could play in making the police job easier.

” The Police under the dynamic leadership of the Inspector General is poised to ensure smooth election and seamless transition in 2023.

” I urge parents to prevail on their children no to be used for thuggery by unscrupulous politicians as We inch towards campaigns and elections.

” Various sessions of training have been held for personnel in six Geopolitical Zones to equip members of the Police on modern  techniques to handle the forthcoming election successfully,” he said.

Earlier in her remarks, Chairman of NUJ Kaduna State Council, Asma’u Yawo Halilu while commending the new Police leadership for the successes being recorded in the fight against banditry and other forms of insecurity across the state, Pledged to work in synergy with the Command by informing and mobilizing citizens in effort to rid the state of crime and criminals.

She noted that Kaduna State as capital of the defunct Northern Region if secured, it would send a message to bandits and other crime perpetrators to stay clear of the Zone.
