2023: We Won’t Accept Rigging, Thuggery, Says ACF

A Pro Northern Nigeria Sociocultural group , Arewa Consultative Forum ( ACF) , has vowed not to condone rigging and thuggery in the forthcoming 2023 General Election .

National Chairman of ACF, Chief Audu Ogbe made the declaration at the forum stakeholders’ meeting in Kaduna.

Ogbe, while charging the (Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a level playing ground for all contestants, urged the election umpire to put in place rigging proof measures that would make it difficult for anybody to tamper with people’s mandates.

He however, commended INEC for its push to ensure more Nigerians were captured in permanent voter registration exercise conducted by the commission.

On insecurity, Ogbe commended security agencies, particularly the military, DSS, the police and Civil Defence for their efforts in tightening the noose on bandit terrorists and other criminal elements in Northern part of Nigeria , urging them not to relent until every corner of the country could be said to be safe for citizens to go about legitimate businesses .

He lamented the ongoing strike by  Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), saying it has lingered for too long, which deserves the urgent attention of all Stakeholders.

The ACF Chieftain enjoined the federal government and ASUU leadership to reach a compromise so students could return to classes to catch up with lost a academic calendar

” The flooding problem that has ravaged many states across Nigeria deserves the attention of concerned Stakeholders to come to the aid of affected communities by way of providing shelters and emergency materials for their comfort and succour.

” The country is indeed going through some difficult period in her existence with barrage of problems , ranging from insecurity, inflation, acute unemployment,  unstable prices of essentials among other overwhelming issues affecting Nigerians.

” We hope the electorate will make the right choice by electing competent people who would solve our problems and chart a new course in nation building so generations yet unborn could be bequeathed with a better country .

” We are optimistic that Nigeria would overcome all her challenges and put all bad times behind us, ” he prayed.
