The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe on Tuesday,  urged all women in the state to unite and support women candidates that are capable in the forthcoming general elections.

Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe stated this when she received on a courtesy visit in her office, female aspirants vying for various elective positions under the umbrella of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Kaduna State.

She said that women in government presently did not get there because they are women, but because they have the capacity, capability and they are very dynamic.

According to her, “I have always dreamt of seeing women aspiring to hold positions of leadership that will give us opportunity  to sit on the table and make decisions as we constitute about 50 per cent of the total population.

“I think the time has come for us to make up our minds to support one another.

“What is it that we do to ourselves that women shy away from coming forward to stand for themselves.

“However, this is the time to see that we are one, no matter where you are coming from, we should stand under one roof and be United to support one another.

“Whatever it is if a woman is there, people will always support her, I think we are starting from somewhere. This is the time we need one another, we are all women, we should look out for one another.

“I am grateful that you are putting yourselves together, this is the time to mentor so many people, with all the women coming together we are partners, there’s nothing that we cannot achieve.

“We should know that we are not competitors, hence with all the women coming together, we are partnering with the men, we may not have money that the men have, but we have integrity and dignity. We are caring, we are compassionate, let’s put ourselves together.

“I pray that this time around, we will make significant difference that the women will rise up for one another, we will be for better, I know that once we have many women, it will be for the greater input for Kaduna people.”

Earlier, the pioneer President of Kaduna APC Women Aspirants Forum,  Vicky Bonaface Garba, said that they have decided to unite under one platform called Kaduna APC Women Aspirants Forum for 2023.

“We are to network amongst ourselves to effectively come up with ideas towards gathering an unprecedented number of votes across the state for our great party APC in the forthcoming general elections in 2023. We’re confident we’ll deliver one million women votes for APC come 2023 general elections,” she said.

Vicky Boniface Garba, commended Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai for giving women opportunities to contribute to governance, a development that inspired more women to aspire for elective positions.
