The Atiku Haske organisation, (AHO) Oyo State Chapter on Wednesday, urged Nigerian voters to assess the candidates based on their track records rather than face value.
AHO in a statement after the maiden meeting of the body, signed by its state Director, Otunba Babatunde Adesokan, declared that the country is in dire need of a strong leader with what it takes to take the country out of the proverbial woods.
According to the group, the time has come for the country to make a right choice of a knowledgeable President with proven track records.
” Nigerian voters should assess the candidates based on their track records rather than face value as the country is in dire need of a strong leader with what it takes to take the country out of the proverbial woods”, it said.
The group added, ” our people are tired of being in the wilderness they are presently engulfed in and the only way to sprint out of the miasma is to make a right choice of a knowledgeable President with proven track records “
” Our people can no longer be coerced into voting based on tribal sentiments at this age, competence and vigour to steer the ship of the nation should be our watchwords, that is the global best practice”
The group’s spokesperson, Alhaji Adebisi Waheed declared that the local coordinators specifically saddled with the task as rallying points for the 33 LGs in the State had been identified and will be launched very soon as” we are already behind schedule “
“We can’t reshape the edges at this crucial period to fit in the square peg in a round role ,we can’t test waters at this momentous time when God has given us Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to save Nigeria’s ship from the rapids” he said.
The group vowed to put out all stops to make sure the people of Oyo State are not cajoled by the old tricks of the political scammers in 2003 elections.
