The Yoruba Solidarity Group (TYSG) has cautioned the former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Oloye Jumoke Akinjide to stop opposing Yoruba Presidency in 2023

TYSG in a statement on Saturday, asked the former Minister to stop forthwith her alleged verbal attacks on the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate,  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the group, Asiwaju Tinubu remains the most suitable candidate for the presidency of Nigeria in this year’s general elections and deserves to be supported by all and sundry and that the former Minister should not allow herself to be used to oppose Asiwaju Tinubu Presidential ambition.

TYSG in the statement, pointed out that instead of dissipating energy to rubbish Asiwaju Tinubu, Oloye Akinjide should use her energy to first launder the image of her principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate.

It stressed further that Oloye  Akinjide’s efforts to persuade the  people of Oyo State not to vote for Asiwaju Tinubu and other APC candidates in  Saturday’s  polls are already fruitless as nobody is ready to listen to the former minister.

The group maintained that the former minister’s verbal attacks on the APC Presidential candidate on a live radio programme ” is not only laughable, but condemnable”.

“Oloye Jumoke Akinjide talked about Tinubu not bringing anything for the Yorubas in the last eight years, forgetting that the APC presidential candidate only  held a public office between 2003 to 2007”, it said.

The group added, ” Thousands of Oloye Jumoke Akinjide cannot convince the good people of Oyo State not to vote for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

” That states like ours, Oyo has local government development authorities, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu pioneered the creation out of his visionary and development -driven politics”.

According to the group, ” rather than serving meritoriously like Professor Taoreed Adedoja that represented Oyo State before her did, Jumoke was hurled into detention at the expiration of her tenure as Minister of State for FCT on allegation of corruption.
