A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA), Mohammed Adamu Omadefu has been accused of certificate forgery.
Omadefu popularly known as ‘Quality Adamu’ who represents Keana Constituency was said to have forged a degree certificate which he’s using.
A Facebook user, Jamil Okinawe disclosed this in a post, warning that the lawmaker “should be ready to go to jail”.
Okinawe lamented that the lawmaker who’s hell-bent to secure second term in the 2023 general elections on the platform of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) has now resorted to blackmail against opponents.
“Once again, Quality Adamu has engaged the service of Atala Yusuf to do a dirty job of writing petition against the aspiration of one Mohammed Atose from Keana.
“Quality Adamu is afraid of going to election with Atose because the people of Keana do not want him anymore. He has gone to the Governor and TA’AL to beg Atose to step down for him, but hope is not on his side. Therefore he decided to use his last card by writing baseless petition.
“Quality should be ready to go to jail because he is using fake degree certificate,” he wrote on his timeline.
Reacting however, an associate of the lawmaker described the allegation as baseless and aimed at tarnishing his hard earned reputation.
The associate who spoke under condition of anonymity urged the general public to disregard the allegation in its entirety as it has no iota of truth.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Omadefu also has a Master’s degree from a reputable institution,” he added.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach the lawmaker for comment on the allegation proved abortive at press time.
