Secretary to the Government of Katsina State (SGS), Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa has officially made public his interest to contest for the seat of the governor in the 2023 General Elections in the state.  Dr Muhammad Inuwa made public his intention at a press briefing held at the Government House Press Center Katsina. Dr Inuwa said he made wide consultations with relevant stakeholders such as the State Governor Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari before making final declaration.  He promised to notify all those aspiring for the gubernatorial seat under the All Progressive Congress Party (APC).  Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa  already notified two among those aspiring to contest which included the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, and the Managing Director of Federal Mortgage Bank, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa. Dr Mustapha Inuwa promised to adhere to the electoral act signed by President Muhammadu Buhari in his contest.   He said his delay to tender his resignation was in line with provision of the law that did not specify time for those contesting to resign, adding it only provided that contestants holding public officers are to resign before the conduct of primaries.  According to him his visit to the Headquarters of the APC in the state was part of the process of interest declaration toward aspiring for the seat of the state governor.  Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa remarked that, his declaration to join the race was in response to pressure by the love ones in the state who identified him fit to lead the state.  This he said was in realization of his potentials, capacity and the quality to provide good leadership.  While appealing for the support and cooperation of the journalists, Mustapha Inuwa promised to continue to meet with all relevant stakeholders, trade unions and associations as well as other political and social groups to canvass for their support.  Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa also promised to meet with members of the state house of assembly to notify them of his intention with a view to canvass for their support.  He said he does not view political contest as a do or die affair, saying that he was prepared to accept whatever result of his targeted seat as God wishes.
