Kaduna State Labour Party (LP) has announced February 6 for flagging off of governorship campaign and rallies across all local government areas in the state, aimed at wooing the electorate ahead the 2023 general election.

Director General (DG) of Asake/Bashir Campaign Council, Hon. Tsahiru Bako who made the announcement at a press briefing  on Friday February 3 in Kaduna, said the party would kickstart its governorship tour of all nooks and crannies of the state from Sabon-Gari in Zaria which he promised will be a grand event with supporters from all  23 local government areas in the state.

Bako eulogized leadership qualities of governorship candidate of the Labour Party Jonathan Asake,  whom he described as a direct replica of the presidential flag bearer of the party Peter Obi in Kaduna, saying the former House of Reps member would not disappoint voters if elected.

He stated that Asake had left positive footprints and indelible praiseworthy achievements in all previous elective and appointive positions he held.

“Our governorship candidate as National president of Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU), lecturer, House of Reps member could be attested by others to have done excellently well by impacting positively on lives of people and improving their lots.

“As a physicist, Asake, will be a problem solver and solution provider owning to his discipline in one of the most important branches of Science.

“Kaduna state people can be assured of exemplary and affective leadership where their interest and those of their families will matter, “he said.

In his remarks, state chairman of LP Auwal Tafoki revealed that the party with campaign structures across all local governments in the state would sweep majority of votes in presidential and governorship elections in February and March respectively.

Tafoki likened the support base of the party to that of an organic manure with natural substance, capable of nourishing its crops to an ultimatum stage needed for growth and development.

He disclosed that the humble begining of Asake whom he noted started from scratch, rising to becoming a public figure in the nation’s political arena would be an added advantage to the party as it prepared to take over mantle of leadership in Kaduna State.

“We will roll out our drums to unveil all the good things we have for the good people of the state so they could make informed decisions of how they want the state to move.

“We can’t afford to move in circles by recycling these sets of politicians who are responsible for our inertia in all aspects of life.

“Let’s work together by ensuring your inputs matter in governance on how you want your affairs to be piloted in ways that your businesses, education, health, socio-economic activities will be given priorities by your policy makers and executives.

“I urge you to vote all our candidates from top to bottom in the forthcoming general elections in February and March this year, “he appealed.
