2023: Kaduna CP Reinforces Warning On Strict Adherence To  Electoral Act

The Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command, CP Yekini A. Ayoku psc(+), mni, on Thursday  November 17, 2022,  received in audience the newly appointed Resident Electoral Commissioner for Kaduna State Dr Mamudah Isa and other top Management Staff of the Commission.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammed Jalige, made available to newsmen on Thursday.

CP Ayoku in his response,  assured the REC of the Police Command’s and other security agencies’ continuous support, commitment and resolve in working with INEC to deliver a free, fair and credible elections in 2023.

He  was equally emphatic in reiterating his advice to political actors, candidates and parties to shun violence and play the game by the rules as it will be a grave mistake to attempt to test the will and capacity of the Police Command in strictly enforcing the relevant electoral cum criminal laws.

Earlier in his remarks, the REC, Dr. Isa stressed that the visit was all about the preparations for the 2023 general elections with the commitment of ensuring it is hitch-free in the state.

While thanking the CP for his security assessment tour of the INEC offices within Kaduna metropolis earlier in the week and upscaling physical security of the facilities, the REC used the opportunity in seeking for further support and collaboration to have a free, fair and credible elections in Kaduna State in 2023.

The INEC officials were received by the CP along with other Senior Police Officers in the Command.
