2023: I Joined Kaduna Guber Race To Solve Lingering Challenges – Asake



Labour Party candidate for Kaduna State in the 2023 general elections,  Honourable Jonathan Asake has said that he took up the challenge to contest for the number one position, to  bring about pragmatic solutions to problems bedeviling the  state.

Asake expressed this  at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kaduna State Council,  Political Committee Interactive   Meeting With  Gubernatorial Candidates on Friday November 18, 2022.

In view of that he said, his administration will be built on five pillars.

“Our government will focus on five  key pillars, namely,  security, women and youth empowerment, human capital development, inclusive economic infrastructural development, agriculture and good governance,” he said. 

On security, Asake assured that a community policing roadmap for the three senatorial districts  will be put in place, to provide intelligence driven, proactive community policing and training partnerships with global community policing experts, institutions, as well as the Nigerian armed forces. 

He vowed that he would review the Kaduna Vigilante Service Law to provide impetus for better performance welfare package.

“The Hunters Association will be reorganized, trained and better equipped to gather native intelligence and collaborate with local vigilantes,” he said. 

The Labour Party gubernatorial candidate explained that women and youth empowerment will also be accorded priority. 

“We will establish Micro, Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) centers for women to generate incomes for their family needs.

“We would also design an agricultural sector specific gender policy,” he pledged. 

On friendly infrastructure for disadvantaged citizens, he said that they will review the Disability Law to strengthen the operation of the board in collaboration with Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA). 

Emphasizing the importance of human capital development, Asake said that  primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions across Kaduna State would be invigorated  with the teaching of mathematics and ICT (STEAM) accorded priority at both primary and secondary levels as mandatory core courses. 

“We shall partner with development partners to ensure regular trainings and retraining for teachers to update their capacity and efficiency. 

Honourable Asake also spoke on improving health social audit in collaboration with the civil society  groups in  the 255, primary healthcare centers in the state, as well as promoting of sports in view of its numerous advantages. 

“We shall promote sporting activities in schools to develop talents,” he stressed.
