BY DAHIRU SULEIMAN, Dutse
Mustapha Sule Lamido, a son of former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido has declared his intention to run for the governorship race come 2023 elections under the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP).
Speaking at a PDP rally held in Dutse, he said, “my declaration of today is to honour the pressure of series of clarion calls from my party faithful to contest for governorship to bail our dear state from the verge of collapse.
Lamido who insisted that he was forced by Jigawa citizens to contest, said he answered the call with the sole aim of saving Jigawa people from “APC’s atrocities”.
He described APC government as a failed and deceitful government, adding that the ruling party pushed Nigerians into hardship.
“After several calls both from political elders, colleagues and other friends, I Mustapha Sule Lamido in the name of Allah, I will contest for governorship position in 2023 forthcoming general election in Jigawa State,” he said.
He solicited for support and prayers of all and sundry.
“As collectively, we wish to rescue our state from abstract leadership of the ruling party to a purposeful leadership of progress and development,” he stressed.
The 39 years old Lamido, urged youth to close rank with him in his cardinal objectives in moving Jigawa State forward if given the mandate, as youth are the backbones, and pillars of any societal development.
