Movement For the Support of Democracy and  Promotion of Good Governance (MSDG) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify all candidates having pending cases bordering on financial misappropriation, seeking elective posts in the 2023 general election.

In a  statement issued to newsman in Kano, signed by the group’s National President, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Usman, MSDG saud  that there are so many candidates that are seeking various elective positions and  they are still having pending cases on fraud and other crime related to monetary issues.

Furthermore, the group pointed out  that, “No country would develop under corrupt leaders, and it is time for the electoral body to sweep corrupt leaders from getting access to any elective position in order to sanitize our leadership for a better Nigeria”.

The group announced that plans have been concluded to commence special media action and public enlightenment on the need to elect only credible leaders and shun all candidates with pending cases, to restore the glory of the nation.
