Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has commended the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Umar Ganduje for endorsing his deputy who equally doubles as National President of (YSFON ), Dr. Yusuf Nasiru Gawuna to succeed him as the next governor of the state and his former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo, as his running mate.
He made this known during a stakeholders meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, held at Africa House, Government House, Kano, while describing Gawuna as a complete gentleman, “who knows what is right and what is wrong. A person who is reliable and very loyal.”
As a Deputy Governor, Ganduje said, “He makes good use of his office, a very loyal lieutenant. Who is very loyal and dependable.”
In a statement by the body’s national secretary, Patrick Okpavuehre the federation said it is highly elated by the honour done to its President, noting that they’re sure Gawuna will continue with the good legacies of his principal and carry out programmes that will further uplift the state.
“ We at YSFON are very excited with this development because it shows how cordial our National President has worked with his boss and we don’t have any doubt in our minds that as a tested technocrat, Gawuna will bring his wealth of experience on play when he eventually takes over government next year and we pray that the Almighty Allah will see him through in the primaries, electoral campaigns and the election proper,” the statement concluded.
