No fewer than five councillors staged a walkout of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) on Tuesday December 6, 2022 in Kaduna North Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Kaduna North is the local government of Governor Nasir el-Rufai.

The councillors who were elected in the last  local government election in the state, gave  reasons for dumping the parties on whose platforms they were elected to include dissatisfaction, lack of direction, injustice and general loss of confidence in leadership of their estranged political identities.

The LG before the new development  had councillors elected on the platform of PDP and APC but now has five NNPP LG legislators.

NNPP Kaduna North House of Reps candidate for 2023 general election, Hon. Shehu Bawa, known as ABG while receiving the councillors into the fold of the party expressed joy over the development, telling the new members that they had made the right choice of leaving their previous parties on principle.

ABG  disclosed that the councillors  became disenchanted with their previous parties following the discovery that they (APC and PDP) had no interest and intention of moving the country forward.

while announcing the NNPP as their new political home, the House of Reps faithful enjoined the electorate to do same, adding that the new party would rescue Nigeria from what he described as the sorry state it was plunged into by the ruling party.

” They had to leave, they  just had to leave their previous parties because they were no longer  comfortable living in lies and subterfuge while watching Nigerians going through hardship caused by these parties – APC and PDP.

” We must voice out that these two parties they  have just dumped have no iota of plan, vision and mission for the general wellbeing of the masses.

” All they are after is to enrich their purses at the detriments of the electorate who are in dire need of dividends of democracy.

” After exiting their estranged parties and carefully examining other available political entities they have come to realize that the NNPP is the party with genuine blueprint and manifesto of saving this country from the present predicament it has been plunged into,” he said.

ABG commended the councillors for their patriotism, audacity and passion for growth and development of the country, adding that they won’t regret joining the party.

He urged them to remain steadfast, committed and passionate about the intent of seeing a prosperous and economically buoyant nation.
