2022 Plateau Cultural Carnival Will Boost Native Understanding, Ethno-religious Unity – Convener

Convener of the 2022 Plateau Cultural Carnival, Debrah Jalmet, has said this year’s event is targeted at boosting native understanding, love for one another, societal advancement, security and ethno-religious unity.
Speaking with newsmen, Jalmet said the event would undoubtedly have a powerful impact on the society and the youths would be significant beneficiaries due to their strategic position in the society and and a quality aspect of the event target at them.
According to her, the event would hold this Friday at the Crest Hotel in Jos and participants are expected from across the 17 local government areas of the state.
“The Plateau Cultural Carnival is more than an event. We envision it to be a way of life, because our cultural values must be imbibe in our everyday life and activities. Our culture is gradually fading out, this is why we invite all custodian of culture, Plateau people, organizations and the government to actively participate in the event.
“This event is everybody’s own, and we want the people to run with it and to be part of this laudable event. The aim is not only to project Plateau to the national and international community in a positive light, but also to encourage unity of all the culture and traditions on the plateau. 
“More importantly is that the carnival is targeted at boosting the ethno-religious unity in the state which has become a much needed factor today. Also, it would boost the security of the state and uplifting of the youths as that is also a significant aspect of the event,” she said.
She called on all and sundry to endeavour to be part of the carnival because it has a rich events lines up, adding that participants and invited guests will surely be treated to a pertinent and superb entertainment, information and education.
