National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated 614 Hajj seats to Jigawa State for this year’s Hajj exercise, as over 530 intending pilgrims have already deposited their monies in the account of Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Director Admin and Finance and also acting Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Mustapha Umar revealed this to newsmen in Dutse.
He said they have received a letter of seats allocation from NAHCON for 2022 exercise and now they are waiting for the commission to inform them of the Hajj fares.
” As we received the allocation, already 530 people deposited money for 2021 exercise, which was canceled, but they left their money with us against 2022 exercise.
“We in Jigawa State have resolved to consider those who already deposited their money since last year before others and as soon as NAHCON announces this year’s Hajj fares, we will mobilize them to complete their balance,” he explained.
He however, revealed that the remaining seats would be sold according to first come, first serve and promised to ensure justice in releasing the seats.
Mustapha also reiterated the commitment of the board to ensure compliance with the Saudi Arabia and NAHCON guidelines for the exercise, including observance of COVID-19 protocols and administering vaccines.
