The NIgeria Beach Volleyball Federation (NVBF) contingent to the 2022 Beach Volleyball Nations Cup will be departing for Morocco on Sunday July 24.

The contingent  comprising both male and female teams are expected to put up a good show at the competition billed to hold between July 25 and August 2.

President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod who was at the stadium, was sighted holding a closed door meeting with the contingent on Saturday July 23.

In an interview with sports writers after he met with the players, coaches and other officials, Nimrod said that  by God’s grace they are heading off for Morroco for Senior Beach Volleyball Nations Cup.

“National Beach Volleyball Teams male and female are here at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna and have been preparing to make Nigeria proud in Morocco,” he said

According to him, “They are departing NIgeria on Sunday and arrive Morocco. The competition starts July 25 and ends on August 2.

“We are going with both male and female teams A and B, with one coach and referee,” he said.

On who is sponsoring the teams, he explained that the federation raised funds for the tickets and other logistics.

“We all know how dollar rate is now at about N650 to the Naira, which makes it very fund sapping. Besides the tickets, we are giving them some little stipends. We will also provide accomodation and feeding,” he said.

When asked if the team is sure of victory at the world cup, he said that they have prepared well and look forward to a positive outing.

“We pray for success and victory, but we will not say we will win. The most important thing is to prepare the prayers. The success is that we are building a new team,” he said.

Speaking further, he said that many countries are wary of Nigeria, because they dread the country ‘s under aged teams.

“Even FIVB recognizes NIgeria that we are very strong in under age teams,” he submitted.

Also speaking, Head Coach  of the team, Kayode Ajilore said that the players have been in camp for two weeks and have been prepared  physically and mentally.

He expressed hope that with their level of training, they will go into the competition and do their best.
