*suspects remanded in Correctional Centre till September

Two elderly men were on Thursday remanded at Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo town by the Oyo State Family Court sitting in Ibadan for allegedly defiling two minors
The suspects, Kayode Akinsile, 60 and Dr. Ajelere Ajewumi, 68, were arraigned before the Oyo State Family Court 2, by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to Oyo State NSCDC, the first suspect Kayode Akinsile, 60, M, of Alafara Ona Ara, Ibadan was first arrested on 15th June, 2021 and was granted bail but allegedly went ahead to defile another minor and was rearrested on 7th July, 2021.
The Command stressed that the second suspect, Dr. Ajelere Ajewumi, 68, M from Oki Olodo, Ibadan was arrested for alleged illegal adoption and defilement of 14 years old girl.
Chief Magistrate P.O. Adetoyibo after hearing the charges against the two suspects, ordered that the two suspects be remanded at Abolongo Correctional Centre in Oyo town till September.
Oyo State NSCDC Commandant, C.C. Michael Akintayo Adaralewa while speaking on the suspects after the court proceeding, disclosed that the two suspects were arraigned in court after Forensic/Medical examinations and thorough investigations.
Adaralewa advised parents to be more responsible in caring for their children, while he encouraged the children to be disciplined and be good ambassadors of their various homes and families.
He also warned those who still indulge in defiling minors or assault women to desist as NSCDC will deal decisively with anybody caught in such acts.
