As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, a member of Board of Trustees, (BOT) of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has called for peace amongst Nigerians as he hosted about 300 Muslims at his Oba residence.
He tasked Muslim faithful to love one another.
He said that the celebration, “is called,, ‘Baban Sallah, in the Muslim world’, I have to host Muslim brothers. This is love which was displayed by the Biblical Ibrahim when God asked him to use his only begotten son as sacrifice to God.
“As he was about to slaughter Isaac, God intervened and sent a ram which was in replacement of Isaac.
“It shows that you have to love God and man, so we call the celebration Baban Sallah,” he stated.
“When you kill ram you share it into three places, one for the family that bought the ram, another part for the Muslims and the third for non Muslims.
“So we have to show love to each and every one of irrespective of ones religious, political, ethnic and whatever inclination,” he admonished.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of Oba, Alfa Mohammed Tukur, in his sermon prayed for God to continue to protect and guide Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka as he works for the interest of both Muslims and non Muslims.
He also prayed for long life of Ezeonwuka so that he would continue to host Muslims in the area.
The Chief Imam who was flanked by the chairman of Hausa community in Oba, Malam Ali Mohammed, and Alfa Lateef Ayodele, the Muazin/Alfa Oba Imam mosque, Alfa Hamas Mohammed, said Ezeonwuka remains their father in Oba.
“We thank God for Rommy Ezeonwuka, we pray God keeps this our father, he should stay and continue to host us,” he prayed.
