President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Development Institute (AMEDI) in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, who dropped the good news on Saturday, at the commissioning ceremony of the Lafia City Mall, said the institute will be under the supervision of the National Agency for Sciences and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
Governor Sule, while enumerating the benefits to be derived from the initiative to include opportunities for youth employment as well boosting agriculture; thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the gesture.
The institute (AMEDI) in addition to the Vocational and skills acquisition centre by the state government is in line with his administrations Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy, NEDS which lays emphasis on creating the right atmosphere for investors and development.
