Gwaram LG Council Issues Quit Notice To Commercial Sex Workers

Irked by perpetual act of immorality on market days at Sara Market in Gwaram Local Government Area Jigawa State, the council has issued a thirty-day ultimatum to all commercial sex workers operating in the area to vacate, or face the wrath of the law.
Council Chairman, Alhaji Zaharadden Abubakar disclosed this on Friday after he received a delegation of Sara community, in his office.
He said the aim was to tackle immorality in the local government.
The chairman ordered all the commercial sex workers operating in the area to present names of their suitors to the local government authority before expiration of the deadline.
He explained that the council is ready to marry off all the indigenous repented commercial sex workers and take care of the wedding expenses.
Abubakar said the council will repatriate non-indigenous sex workers in the local government back to their respective states of origin.
He also directed the immediate closure of all clubs and beer parlours in the local government area to comply with Sharia legal code implemented in the state.
The council boss said the council has mobilized police and other security agencies to arrest defaulters.
