President, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Chris Isiguzo Ikechukwu on Wednesday paid a condolence visit on the management of Freedom Radio Kaduna over the death of their staff and chairman of their NUJ Chapel, Malam Suleiman Yakubu, who passed away after a brief illness and urged the organization to be strong as death was an inevitable end.
The president while commending Kaduna based journalists for their financial and moral support, assured of the union’s contribution to the upkeep of the family the deceased left behind.
“NUJ is a big family and we watch out for ourselves, Yakubu was one of us and so we ought to do the needful for his family.”
Isiguzo also prayed that God should grant the organization the fortitude to bear the loss of their colleague.
Receiving the NUJ President, the Station Manager of Freedom Radio, Hajia Mariam Dalhatu described his death as a rude shock because of the worth of experience he brought to the organization.
“We will miss him, his experience and dedication to work. He was one of our best hands, but Allah knows best,” she added.
Suleiman Yakubu until his death had worked with the Kaduna State Media Corporation, (KSMC), Legacy Newspapers before joining Freedom Radio.
He was aged 67 and is survived by children.
