Brigadier General Chinade Assumes Duty As Depot NA Commandant

Brigadier General A.S. Chinade has officially assumed duty as the 35th Commandant of the Depot Nigerian Army (Depot NA), Zaria.
A statement issued by the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army, Lt. Joy F. Abah said Brigadier General Chinade took over from Major General Abdusalami Bagudu Ibrahim the 34th Commandant, who is now to proceed to Nigerian Army Head Quarters Abuja as the Chief of Training, in charge of the Nigerian Army.
Addressing officers during the handing over ceremony, the outgoing Commandant, Major General Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the officers and soldiers of the prestigious institution for their support, commitment and unity displayed during his tour of duty and admonished similar support and loyalty be extended to the new Commandant.

Major General Ibrahim described the new Commandant as a regimental Infantry officer who is no stranger to the institution and stated that he is sure his wealth of experience in training will be brought to bear in turning raw civilians into professional soldiers, who are ready to accomplish assigned mission within a joint environment in defence of Nigeria at the home of buffalo.
In his remarks, the incoming Commandant, Brigadier General Chinade thanked the outgoing Commandant for his foresight and achievements in the area of training, infrastructural facelift and maintenance of regimentation in the institution. 
He reiterated that he will sustain the tempo and further urged all officers and soldiers of Depot NA to be proactive and continue to imbibe discipline in the discharge of their duty.
Highlight of the event was the signing of the handing and taking over notes, decoration of the incoming Commandant with Depot NA insignia and hoisting of Depot NA flag which marks the symbol of authority in the Institution, as well as inspection of the Quarter Guard.
The recent redeployment of senior military officers in a bid to strategically reposition the Nigerian Armed forces for optimal performance.
