Adamawa PDP Celebrates Senator Grace Bent’s Defection
Adamawa State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the exit of Senator Grace Folashade Jackson Bent to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a movement of an empty politician to a party of no relevance in the state.
He said the gathering of APC Governors and party chieftains to receive Bent on Saturday is a camouflaged move by her to blindfold them to believe that she is a politician worthy of note in Adamawa State.
The Adamawa PDP organizing Secretary, Alhaji Hamza Madagali in an interview with our correspondent, said Bent’s defection is a welcome development, a good omen the party has been praying to God to send away enemies of the party in a political dungeon where they can’t be able to come out till eternity.
He revealed that the Senator has lost popularity from her people in the Southern Senatorial zone, lost out with them in 2019 when they refused to vote her as their sole Senatorial candidate despite given her the privilege to form the party delegates of the zone.
According to him, it’s unfortunate that the one time Senator is indignant and resulted in shifting blames, calling the name of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and many party chieftains behind her political perils.
“It is a good omen in Adamawa PDP for a politician of her worth, a Senator who is no longer relevant, fell out with her people and undermined the privileges she enjoyed in the party, she rather turned an ingrate.
” I believe she is missing it all out, thank God she said PDP made her who she is, whatever and wherever she will be, it is the glory of PDP that will keep her. This is the truth she will always admit.” Hamza said.
The PDP official refuted the claims of APC chieftains during the welcome ceremony of Bent in Yola that there remaind no prominent politician in PDP, that the bigwigs Adamawa politicians are all in APC.
Madagali said that the heavyweight politicians in PDP one cannot find such in APC.
He mentioned the likes of former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who served the nation for eight years, the former Governor of Adamawa State, Mr. Boni Haruna, Professor Emeritus, and a one-time ranking Senator, Professor Jibril Aminu.
Others he considered pullers and shakers of Adamawa politics are the former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, Mr. Dan Suleiman who is a member Board of Trustees of the party, who he said are still in PDP, active and able to make the party an ever winning one in the state.
“We are happy she left us, gone with her political woes to APC where she can finally destroy her political ingrate attitude,” Hamza added.
