Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has observed that the religion of Islam plays a vital role in shaping human behavior and establishment of a cohesive, just and peaceful society.
To this end, the governor stressed the need for the state teeming youths to subject themselves to the reading and memorization of the Holy Qur’an.
Closing the 2021 Qur’anic recitation completion in Bauchi Friday, the governor explained that the impact of reading and memorizing the on the lives of the Muslim Ummah especially the youths cannot be over-emphasized.
Bala recalled the series of prevailing crisis around the country most of which, he observed, are largely attributable to misconceptions of the teachings of the religion of Islam, as well as distorting method of impacting knowledge to our youths.
He called on Ulamas, parents, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with the methods and ways of our noble prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions in impacting moral values and other rightness in the minds of the youths.
“Occasion is timely and relevant to keep reminding ourselves of the virtues of learning and teaching of the holy Qur’an to our youths which would prepare their minds mentally and spiritually as future leaders of our great country”.
According to him, moral education and society generations are collective responsibilities of not only the government but the entire society, and appealed to the Ummah to initiate programmes and ideas on way forward to the social problems bedeviling the country.
The governor assured that his administration would welcome positive ideas from individuals and communities which are geared towards promoting peaceful co-existence and development of child education in the state.
He also assured that the state government would be ready to partner with any organization to promote not only Islamic education but general education in the state, as well as provide adequate teaching equipment, facilities and good teaching atmosphere to educational institutions across the state.
Governor Bala implore the competition organizing committee to ensure adequate training and coaching to the winners who will represent the state during camping in preparation for the national competition coming up soon.
Bala commended the committee members for what he described as job well done, and the Musabaqa judges for their good and fair judgement in identifying the representatives that would make the state proud during the national competition.
He implored state representatives to the national competition to behave orderly, respect the rule of the competition and emerge victorious in all the categories so as to maintain the good tempo recorded by the state during the previous competitions.
The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu who also spoke at the occasion commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his moral and financial support towards the promotion of the religion of Islam.
Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu enjoined Tsangaya Mallams to ensure that their students read and memorize the Holy Qur’an, and appealed to the Muslim Ummah to hold onto the Holy Qur’an as a guidance to mankind.
At the State by State level of the Qur’anic Recitation Competition held in Kano recently, Abdulsamad Adam Musa from Dass LGA emerged 5th in 60 Hibz with Tafsir, scored 93.6 in the male category while A’isha Y Danjuma emerged 4th in 60 Hibz without Tafsir, scored 96.5 in the female category.
The Bauchi state male and female overall winners, Abdulsamad Adam Musa and A’isha Y. Danjuma were decorated with gown and turban and Hijab respectively by the Emirs of Bauchi and Misau, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu and Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman respectively at a ceremony held at Eid-el ground, Bauchi. The awardees also bagged brand new Peugeot 406 and other consolidation prices.
